We ended up with some eggs, so I build a Chicken Egg Incubator.
Then I needed some way to determine if the eggs were developing normally. So I built this simple
Egg Candler. It's simply a light socket wired up and screwed to a board. I then took a piece of
4" PVC that I had laying around and put it over the light bulb (a 75w CFL) and then taped the pvc
to the light socket and taped a thin board on top. The board has a 1" hole in it. So far this
has worked great. The eggs were at day 7 and of the 18 found in the barn, 8 of them had obvious
veining and movement with a couple others questionable enough to keep for another week.
